Cutoffs are typical, not official. Every number below is a commonly-reported guide value that changes each recruitment cycle and differs per campus, per role and per batch. How the eligibility check works

Campus placement shortlists almost always run on a handful of hard gates. This checker applies the same gates that recruiters typically publish, against the numbers you enter.

A company shows as eligible only when you clear every gate. Each blocked company lists the exact failing rule, and the what-if slider re-counts how many you unlock as your CGPA rises.

Worked example: the SGPA to reach your target

Raising your CGPA is the usual way to unlock more companies. Here's the exact formula the tool uses to tell you the average SGPA you need across your remaining credits.

required avg SGPA = ( target CGPA × total credits − completed credits × current CGPA ) / remaining credits
Worked example. You're at 6.4 CGPA over 100 completed credits, with 80 credits left, and you want to reach 7.0.
Total credits = 100 + 80 = 180. Required avg SGPA = (7.0 × 180 − 100 × 6.4) / 80 = (1260 − 640) / 80 = 7.75. So you'd need to average 7.75 SGPA on your remaining credits. If that number ever comes out above 10, the target isn't reachable in the credits you have left — aim lower or clear backlogs to widen your options instead.

How backlogs affect placement eligibility

An active backlog is a paper you have failed and not yet re-cleared. A history-of backlog (or "cleared backlog") is one you failed once but have since passed. The distinction matters enormously in placements.

Nearly every campus recruiter requires zero active backlogs at the time of the drive — this is often the single biggest blocker for otherwise-eligible students. The good news is that clearing an active backlog converts it into a history-of backlog, which most companies accept. That's why clearing your active backlogs is usually the fastest way to unlock companies, and the tool shows you exactly how many. A small set of dream companies additionally ask for no history of backlogs at all, so cleared papers can still matter there.

Because rules differ per company, per role and per year, always treat these as typical guidance and confirm the live criteria with your placement cell. More on placements and academics on the AttendFlow blog →

Frequently asked questions

Which companies can I apply to with a 6.5 CGPA?
With a 6.5 CGPA and no active backlogs you typically clear the cutoff of most mass recruiters — TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini, Accenture, HCLTech, LTIMindtree and Deloitte all sit around 6.0–6.5 typically. Dream companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Adobe and Goldman Sachs typically want 7.0+, so a 6.5 usually falls short there. Enter your numbers above for the exact list — and remember cutoffs change every year and per campus.
Do active backlogs affect placement eligibility?
Yes. The large majority of campus recruiters require zero active (uncleared) backlogs at the time of the drive, so an active backlog usually blocks you outright regardless of CGPA. Clearing it converts it to a history-of backlog, which most companies accept — so clearing active backlogs is often the fastest way to unlock more companies.
Which companies don't allow active backlogs?
As a rule of thumb, nearly all campus recruiters (TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, Capgemini, Amazon, Microsoft and most others) require zero active backlogs on the day you sit for the drive. A small number of service companies occasionally allow one active backlog in certain years, and a few dream companies also require no history of backlogs at all. Always confirm the exact policy with your TPO.
What SGPA do I need to reach a 7.0 CGPA?
Required average SGPA on remaining credits = (target CGPA × total credits − completed credits × current CGPA) ÷ remaining credits. From a 6.4 CGPA over 100 completed credits, reaching 7.0 across 80 remaining credits needs (7.0 × 180 − 100 × 6.4) ÷ 80 = 7.75 SGPA. If the required average is above 10, it's not achievable in the credits you have left. Use the "Reach a target CGPA?" section above to compute yours.
Am I eligible for TCS or Infosys placement with my CGPA?
TCS Ninja and Infosys typically require a minimum of 6.0 CGPA (about 60%) with no active backlogs and 60% in 10th and 12th. TCS Digital and Infosys specialist roles ask for much higher — around 8.0 and 7.0. Enter your numbers above to see the exact gap. These are typical cutoffs and change every cycle.
Is this placement eligibility checker accurate?
It uses typical, publicly-reported cutoffs as a guide, not official criteria. Eligibility rules change every year and differ per campus, per role and per batch. Treat it as a starting point and always confirm the current criteria with your training and placement officer (TPO) or placement cell before applying.
